I’m Sheila Koehn, the heart and hands behind Prairie Paper Company. My story begins on the wide-open prairies of Saskatchewan, winds along the Nova Scotian shores of the Bay of Fundy, and has now brought me to the quiet cornfields and fireflies of Iowa. Each place I’ve called home has left its mark on me—and on the designs I create.
Creativity has always been my constant. As a girl, I could lose hours making cards and scrapbooking. Later, as a teacher, I discovered the joy of creating for my classroom—resources, planners, and little details that brought learning to life. That passion eventually grew into designing stickers, planners, invitations, and branding projects—thousands of pieces that connected me to people who shared an appreciation for thoughtful design.
Life shifted in a beautiful way when I paused my business to marry my husband. With roots now firmly planted in Iowa, I feel both grounded and inspired to step back into creating—this time with a refined focus and fresh perspective.
